A week later, she gets a phone call from a lady she met on her search.

"Carolyn, you thought you husband was an only child, but I found out that he had a twin brother and he is still living in the town where they were born. Isn't that wonderful?"

OUTLINE:
On her way home from work, Carolyn stops at a bar for a pack of cigarettes. Just as she is leaving she meets her ex-boyfriend and now brother-in-law Dwight. He talks her into playing a few games of pool.

He has the bartender to put something in her drink. When they leave, he takes her home with him.

Carolyn's sister Shirley, comes from work unexpectedly and catches them in bed together.

While Dwight and Shirley are scuffling Carolyn slips out and run down toward the lake.

Dwight runs to his car and drives away at a high rate of speed. He wrecks and is killed.

Shirley comes to the dock, but Carolyn hides on top of the boat's cabin and escapes detection. When Shirley goes back to the house, Carolyn takes off in the boat without any clothes.

Carolyn leaves the boat on the other side of the lake and then finds a Laundromat and steals some clothes.

When Carolyn gets to her house, she hurriedly grabs her clothes to flee only to discover her car is gone. Then she remembers she left it at the bar. She cons a male neighbor to take her to get it.

Just as Carolyn is ready to drive away, Shirley is standing there with a pistol pointed at her. Shirley points the pistol at her face and fires it, but it is loaded with blanks. Shirley laughs at her and then walks away.

Carolyn relocates in another state.

Carolyn meets Jim and they are married.

Jim is burned completely up in a furnace at work.

Shirley returns to her home after an absence of almost a year.

Carolyn can't adjust to Jim's death because there was no body and she can't convene herself he is dead.

Spring comes and Carolyn decides to search for the place where Jim was born.

After a surprising amount of trouble she finally locates the town named Jonesboro. She meets a car while driving into town that she is sure Jim is the driver. She convinces herself she was mistaken.

She sees the man again in a parking lot and this time she is sure.

She follows him and sees him and a woman go home. She is convinced Shirley is behind the whole charade and obsessed with making them pay. She pretends the woman with him is Shirley because she doesn't want to really kill her sister.

She sneaks into their house and kills both of them.

She returns home but the idea of Shirley deceiving her bothers he so bad that she decides to kill Shirley also.

She locates Shirley and goes to her house to kill her, and finds Shirley has forgiven her and she decides Shirley wasn't behind her husband's treachery.
